A film that traces a struggle

When TRT-5 CHV approached us to make the film for their respective 30th and 20th anniversaries, we had no idea of the adventure we were about to embark on. We had no idea what this collective represented. This associative collective, which unites around twenty associations, has been at the heart of the fight against HIV-AIDS and hepatitis since the early 1990s. After the medical emergencies at the beginning of the epidemic, through to the hope for a vaccine, patients, activists, and volunteers built a common discourse to face first death, then advances in treatments and changes in society’s perception of the disease. The collective continues to advance research, care, and attitudes to this day.

Through a series of interviews with key actors from all areas of intervention, we showed in this film how the struggle was built, what changes it enabled in healthcare provision, and what the challenges are today. This film was made with Nils Paubel, director, Luc Marciano, camera operator, Léo Blet and Louise Abbou, sound engineers.
