Enhance the living environment of people in emergency accommodation by creating a collective artwork in a centre.
The day’s mission is clear: to create, in an accommodation centre and together with the people being housed there, a collective artwork. The first step may be the most difficult: entering an accommodation centre is not insignificant; it is an unfamiliar and uncomfortable environment. As for the objective, it is twofold: to paint a collective artwork on a wall of several m², and to work with people from different cultural and social backgrounds. Between the residents of the emergency accommodation centre and the employees, it is unfamiliar territory. Once the artist has presented the areas to be painted, mixed groups are formed, bringing together employees and residents. The framework is clarified: while the objective is indeed to paint, care must be taken to do so precisely, sharing the materials and coordinating with one another.
